About bumbaloe

  1. It's interesting to me that this warlock has about 600 less health than in the screenshot I found. Do those numbers hold up if you equip greens of the eagle/boar on your test warlock?
  2. I appreciate that you are using the guiding principles expressed by the Blizzard developers of the time. I think you overshot the mark though. I think the voidwalker's health being so low puts it in an awkward spot. It's supposed to be the tank pet, but it's not tanky enough to survive 3 fireballs or lightning bolts. Here are two vanilla or TBC WoW screenshots of a Warlock whose voidwalker has roughly equivalent, or in the second screenshot, more HP than the Warlock. He is clearly wearing stamina gear and/or specced into demonology as his health is much higher than mine despite being ten levels lower. There's no date listed with these, but Google has them listed as March 15th 2007. https://www.angelfire.com/games6/wowscreens/world_of_warcraft/giant.bmp https://www.angelfire.com/games6/wowscreens/world_of_warcraft/fozruk.bmp And here is a screenshot from April 23rd, 2007 showing a warlock whose felhunter has about 2/3 the HP of the warlock. https://www.deviantart.com/jnali/art/WoW-Warlock-UI-53821469 I guess these won't sway you, but I already found them, so there you go.
  3. I agree that pets had way too much hp prior to this change. I think you overdid it though. I asked a level 42 hunter Dregoth for some information. His pet is a bear with level 6 stamina training. His own stamina is 127. His bear has 1231 hp. I never played a hunter so I'm not sure if bear pets naturally have higher hp, or just higher armor. It certainly seems like bear mobs in the world have higher hp than similarly-leveled cats. I gathered some data from Joana's level 38-40 video from Vanilla (Unsure on exact date, but this was between 2005 and 2007). https://www.joanasworld.com/speedruns/index.php https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h7RMMtGv8o&list=PLMeJnlp72R7p-X7PgsMFqqjPtcxhF7kB_&index=27 Joanas Level 38-40 (Level 39) [see him train pet stamina levels 4 and 5 after this clip) [Character page opens at 31m20s, you can see his character's Stamina is 132 and Health is 1780) Fight around 57m50s Health bar width 330 px - 436 px = 106 px Fight starts at 330 px - 426 px = 96 px or 91% hp Dmg numbers: 41,44,52,41,45,42,48,44,48 = 405 dmg total Fight ends at 330 px - 404 px = 74 px or 70% hp, a 21% loss 405 hp / 0.21 = 1930 hp Fight around 53m40s Fight starts at 330 px - 431 px = 101 px or 95% hp Dmg numbers: 43,45,26,23,24,20,22,25,24,23,25,23,20,21,24,24,22,21,23,21,24,26,22,21,25 Total dmg = 617 hp Fight ends at 330 px - 389 px = 59 px or 56%, a 39% loss 617 hp / .39 = 1580 hp Obviously this data has some huge error bars due mainly to compression artifacts in the video. But in both of these clips he is in combat (I don't believe hunter pets get in-combat pet health regeneration) and he doesn't cast mend pet. The lower end of estimation from this video suggests that the current pet health numbers are too low. His level 39 cat with only rank 3 stamina has at least 300 more HP than a level 42 bear with rank 6 stamina on Skullcrusher. The 5 stamina difference in the player characters surely doesn't account for this difference. If you or anybody else would like to gather more data, it's a bit tedious but the information is out there. I think this much data at least shows that the current health numbers are too low by a rather large margin.
  4. I understand you typically use references to things like old screenshots, forum posts, etc. when making changes like these. I spent some time looking through old Joana's 1-60 speedrun videos, but unfortunately he played with health bar numbers disabled. To save me time looking for a mouseover (or manually calculating pet HP based on damage taken), could you share the data you used to update the pet health values? This is a big change, with my pet (voidwalker) having lost more than 50% hp. So I want to be confident in the value being correct.
  5. See this thread https://www.felmyst.com/forums/index.php?/topic/170017-simple-script-to-get-frames-to-center/
  6. Can you write down the commands you used to save me the work? Presumably you can macro this in to either a standalone macro or some button you hit often whilst logged in (e.g. mount followed by this). Maybe there is a more elegant solution which is persistent, though.
  7. Interesting choice. With "Classic" players becoming so hooked on things like WeakAuras, and that even being ported back to 2.4.3, it's probably more blizzlike to have no addons than allow that. I wonder if that won't turn off so many players that it becomes difficult to maintain 25 for raiding, though. Will be very fun to play in such conditions IMO. I hope others agree and we are able to form a raid group.
  8. Check to see if your system is trying to use a different sound device than the one you're expecting.
  9. I heard Gummy say in a recent video that he still had the prior database with old account/character data. I was a bit surprised I was able to register this username, since I have the registration e-mail from back in 2017 with the same name. How will reclaiming old accounts work?
