First Impression - Introduction

Greetings!

I want to start with my excitement for Skullcrusher. I've been searching for something different in a WoW-Server. After watching some of the YouTube videos I am convinced this is the place. Hearing Fanadin and Gummy talk about so many of the toxic aspects of WoW really resonated and painted me a picture of a better way of doing things. My mind is swirling with ideas about what I'll play, or what would change, maybe what I could do differently. How will we rise to the new challenges? Will there be enough gamers out there who WANT to think for themselves? Is testing someone out in a dungeon before joining a guild or a raid really making a comeback?

The idea of meeting people in a fantasy world to kill dragons is something I've chased for my whole life. I don't want to give people a parse number, or really be compared to every other of my class on a server. It feels like an entirely different game somehow, one where everyone starts on a much more even playing field. There's opportunity to learn and to teach, not how to set up a stupid weak aura, but actual tactics. With less competition and more cooperation novel ideas have room to grow and trust can be built.

I've adventured with many folks over the years, it was certainly rare to find another person interested in talking about new ideas or ways of doing things. I was at first apprehensive to accept the idea that people would be willing to play sub-optimally in our modern world. However, just the existence of a game like this is proof enough to me that people out there care enough to put in the time and learn through experience.

My favorite memories are meeting people in a dungeon or on a quest who become regular teammates. There's value in experiencing struggle with people to bring you closer together. I hope that it can become the norm to give people a chance without significant credentials. Of course there will be adventurers who want to maximize their time in game, however it's difficult to do without advanced information from addons.

Well, I haven't even tried it yet, just listened to people talk about a dream of a game for me. I'll be here to play on release and am comforted by the thoughts and direction the developers seem to be taking with the game. Cheers to them!

Anyone else immediately sold on this game??

Sounds like you're in the right place. Some of the things in your post really hit the nail on the head and will actually be discussed in an upcoming video.

Anyway, how'd you hear about us? I get the impression that perhaps you don't hang around WoW communities often, so I'm curious.

I follow a YouTube channel "Malonze Gaming", he did a video today about Skullcrusher and I loved the concept so I checked out the "Felmyst" channel! You got that right about not hanging around WoW communities. I mostly was on RuneScape or Guild Wars back in the day. I did play WoW classic, but fell off right as WotLK re-launched.
