Introduction Thread

Hi,

To help foster the sense of community and the old school environment on the forums, could we get an introduction/greeting thread on the forum? It's a great way for new players to introduce themselves and find groups of players that are interested in grouping for levels!

Thanks,

Slo

sure I'll bite.

been lurking here for a while but I think might actually try this out. i quit wow years ago. tried classic when it came out and didnt care for it, something wasn't right about it idk. been a while since i did tbc stuff so thinking of rolling a troll shaman. I remember everyone needing shamans. haven't made him yet, trying some other stuff with alts but I'm excited about diving into this server. the no addon rule is a big draw for me. it really makes the game feel more immersive and brings back a classic RPG vibe. I saw ppl posting about how this feels more like what classic should have felt like so definitely looking forward to that.

What a nice idea.

I started WoW in vanilla. I picked shaman, because I thought troll shamans in Warcraft 3 were cool.

I had a lot of fun, but in WOTLK it felt like everyone around me started looking up mechanics and using raid addons. I prefer learning as I play, so it felt like skipping the fun part. Also the random dungeon finder with teleport eroded the community feel. So I quit.

Tried private servers here and there, but nothing serious.

Then I saw this server advertised on Reddit, and got quite excited! Turns out there are more players like me than I thought.

See you out there!

Who ? Me ?

I don't know, just someone who enjoyed warcraft 3, its expansion, the World Editor, early TBC days and WOTLK prepatch, and Dota on battle.net in 2000s, been neglecting Blizzard games since the launch of Dota 2 ( i did resub here and there, like each expansion for a month or two), dumped a significant amount of hours into all i named, except wotlk onwards.
I yapp a lot and get ignored by other players daily for speaking my mind, slightly toxic and anti social you might say.

Never been rank 1 in arenas, never had realm first max levels nor realm first boss kills. Just a casual dude focusing on enjoying gameplay.
I enjoy all aspect of WoW, the leveling experience, the dungeon runs, the raids, and open world pvp.

I dont enjoy the experience i get with other wow players most of the time. Most people i encounter are NPCs imo.

Came here to Felmyst for the first time ever the night they launched the fresh no addon. My initial thought was like this is stupid, how is anyone gonna heal.
Woke up the next morning and said to myself "yo this might be the best idea ever, were all gonna share the same experience, plus i dont have to be a healer"

Really looking forward to enjoy all the little details and big purple items that come along the way.

Hello everyone. I've been playing WoW on and off since around 2007. Played through all of WOTLK content back in 2008, but quit in early Cataclysm. Since then I played on a few private servers and a lot since the relaunch of Classic in 2019 and then hardcore in 2023. I've always played healer roles, so you'll see me online as a Draenei Paladin this time around. Never done Paladin before. See you out there.

Hell-o, people. I've been a Warcraft fan since the very first game (the one from 1994) and a huge nerd for game lore. I got into WoW a bit late, though - around 2010 or so. So I started playing in Cataclysm. Some time later, however, I got to try WotLK on a private server and found out that I enjoy it so much more than Cata... so I quickly became a fan of the older expansions, as they have a lot more soul in them, and are generally more faithful to the lore and spirit of Warcraft I, II and III. Besides, the newer expansions feel way too easy to play and questing has become way too curated. Where's the fun in that? I prefer to explore and discover things on my own, or undertake an epic quest chain that sends me to a different continent to hunt down some obscure trinket.

As a player, I like to take my time and do things a bit slowly, enjoy the scenery, explore the world and so forth... I play periodically, so it's not unusual for me to disappear for months (or a whole year) and then return and continue like nothing happened. I am a little obsessive about little details, so don't be surprised if I start checking if city guards properly respond to my /salutes :P

Anyway, I haven't started playing yet, but will very soon (once I finish up a few other things that are bogging me down). I've played both factions in the past... but my heart always pulls me towards the Horde, so this is where I'll belong.

See you soon.
